Area Surfing Rules & Parking
Surfside Beach
- Parking: Public parking accesses available along Ocean Blvd.
- Leash: Required at all times (max 6ft stretch).
- Pier: No surfing within 300ft of the fishing pier.
- Summer (May 15 – Sept 15): 10am to 5pm restricted to designated zones only (near 13th Ave N and south of 14th Ave S). Open everywhere else before 10am and after 5pm.
- Off-Season: Open everywhere from sunup to sundown.
Myrtle Beach (City Limits)
- Parking: Public pay-parking available at street ends and designated lots.
- Leash: Required at all times (max 7ft).
- Pier: No surfing within 75 yards of any pier.
- Summer (May 1 – Labor Day): 10am to 5pm restricted to specific zones (e.g. 34th–47th Ave N "Golden Mile", 62nd–68th Ave N, 78th–81st Ave N, 87th+ Ave N).
- Off-Season: Open anywhere except near piers.
Pawleys Island
- Parking: Largest free public lot at south end (Springs Ave). No parking at beach accesses between 11 PM and 6 AM.
- Night Surfing: Prohibited from sunset to sunrise.
- Pier: Prohibited within 100 yards of the pier.
- Zones: Generally allowed at all public access points.
